Providence has allowed us another year to bring life changing care to children in the Dominican Republic. These children do not have access to important services such as hearing testing and the fitting of a hearing aid. This care allows them to resume their education and gives them an avenue to join the Dominican society as a productive and accomplished person. Without this help, they struggle in school and their chances of success are so diminished. And the rewards are so heartwarming to help a bright but hearing impaired child fulfill their dreams.
Our work and goals are also helping the children medically with profound problems they suffer. We deal with Ear Nose and Throat medical problems to provide medical advice and medication. We also provide surgical interventions as needed to resolve issues affecting their lives. Severe infection, sleep apnea, tumors and airway obstructions among many. This year we operated on 134 children in need.
All of this care is free to the children. We self support our mission and its work. We provide all of our medications, surgical supplies as well as the hearing aides we give to the children. Such wonderful, grateful and in need children who just do not otherwise have access to this care.
We are the true beneficiaries of the mission. The joy and inspiration this gives us is not measurable except to return knowing you have helped a wonderful group of children who could not otherwise find this help.
And to all of you who support our mission with your thoughts, prayers and financial help, your hands are also present helping the children. Your presence is always with us, working with us. You are all equally vital members of the mission and you are also giving to the children this life altering help. Thank you so much for coming to work with us in the Dominican Republic.
